Job Description

At Oxford Instruments, we enable the world’s leading industrial companies and scientific research communities to image, analyse and manipulate materials down to the atomic and molecular level. Our Magnetic Resonance instruments are used in a range of industries where rapid and accurate analysis is essential, helping to ensure the safety of the food we eat and stopping pollutants being released into the environment.

Are you a motivated individual with a background in manufacturing? Would you like to work within a close team who take pride in their work?

We have an exciting opportunity for an individual with experience in mechanical assembly to join our established manufacturing team to ensure the timely and quality build of components and electronic racks for our systems.

The opportunity

We build and test benchtop NMR systems. Each system is driven by an electronics rack, the rack is modular and consists of some assemblies made in house and some outsourced. In this role you will be responsible for the assembly of various components and electronic racks for our systems and Gradients assemblies. This will include mechanical, as well as electrical and electronic assembly, bench testing the gradients and working closely with the Test team to ensure that the products are completed to the time and quality required. The role also requires use of the ERP system, as well as working with the wider MR team.

About you

You will have proven experience within a manufacturing environment, in particular with mechanical and electrical assembly, together with wiring looms and some electrical soldering.  You will have a good eye for detail and be happy to work with minimal supervision.

A qualification in engineering such as NVQ or an apprenticeship would be desirable.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, colour, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, or disability.
