Job Description

Account manage and strategically lead a series or group of client accounts, ensuring the effective and efficient delivery of projects in line with client and company quality and compliance processes. Collaborate with colleagues and liaise with internal and external stakeholders (e.g. clients, external experts, suppliers, internal and external service delivery teams) throughout the life cycle of projects within the accounts, so that projects are completed to brief, on schedule and within budget. Mentor and develop the team, supporting them to develop the skills to work autonomously and with confidence.

Key Duties/Responsibilities

  • Manage large accounts, ensuring that deliverables contain key messages/information and are aligned with the overall client strategy
  • Act as the main client contact on the day-to-day running of specific projects and on the strategic overview of the whole account
  • Generate project material that require minimal amends in the review process and is developed in accordance with best practice
  • Anticipate and manage project challenges (e.g. resource needs or short timelines for project delivery)
  • As per our commitment to commercial success, actively contribute to internal strategic planning meetings to expand business and drive organic growth within existing accounts
  • Respond promptly to account developments and new business opportunities, by getting actively involved in RFI/RFP responses and by attending pitches
  • Support more junior colleagues to be able to manage projects from start to finish, including taking the client brief to completion of the final reconciliation
  • Ensure the team regularly update internal and client(s) project status reports, which are then communicated to the relevant people

Person Specification

Knowledge (training/education/experience)

  • Science degree, preferably in life sciences
  • Experience in healthcare/medical education
  • Extensive experience in a client-facing and commercially-focussed role
  • Proven financial management skills
  • Strong project management skills
  • Numerate
  • Strong Microsoft Office suite skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
