Job Description

My client is a dynamic fast-growing business supplying a range outdoor products to major retailers in the UK, Europe, and the USA. We are looking for a bright and enthusiastic Sales Administrator to join our rapidly expanding team in Abingdon, Oxfordshire.

The export sales administration team provides comprehensive office support for the export business in the company, which is mainly concentrating on France and Germany. The Export Sales Administrator reports primarily to the Export Sales Administration Manager, and is responsible for:

Key tasks:

Sales Administration

  • Ensure all sales orders for all export customers are received are processed within agreed timescales basis and communicated efficiently to the warehouse
  • Ensuring all administrative tasks such as credit notes, invoicing, filing is processed within agreed timescales
  • Updating key customer listing and promotional data (mail order mainly)
  • Updating Mail Order price lists
  • Providing office support for the sales teams
  • Providing contact and support for any export customers
  • Chasing up overdue payments from customers

Sales Support

  • Generating presentations and quotations for mail order customers and prospects
  • Arranging for product samples where required
  • Providing any additional sales data and information as may be required for the Sales Managers

Stock & Logistics

  • Day to day communication where relevant for orders, deliveries, and collections, including helping to maximise loadings where appropriate
  • Checking and rectifying any issues or problems with our coordination partners
  • Keeping appropriate records of any issues and penalties and reporting them on a regular basis to the Operations Director


  • Providing French translations for catalogues and packaging as required

Key skills and attributes:

  • High level of competence using Microsoft software suite and Sage
  • Good written and conversational French Language skills
  • Well organised and good attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills, with both customers and sales teams
  • Ability to manage a wide range of tasks at any given time
  • Proactive can-do attitude
  • Ability to be able to work effectively with a wide range of people in different departments
