Job Description

 General Description:

The Team Leader role requires you to have a hands-on approach to lead the teams circa. 10 direct reports, responsible for the finishing of GRP products.

Overseeing all aspects of the finishing process and mould tool preparation stages within the Composites Department. Manage team performance and offline metrics, collaborate with stakeholders to optimise workflow and efficiency. 

Main Duties:

  • Manage and motivate a team of GRP finishing specialists, ensuring efficiency of workflow and high-quality output is achieved.
  • Delegate tasks effectively, monitor performance, and provide constructive feedback to drive continuous improvement.  Foster a collaborative and positive team environment, promoting open communication and problem-solving within the team and wider Composites department.
  • Oversee all stages of the finishing process, from efficient use of materials and procurement through our internal ordering system to final inspection and quality control, ensuring adherence to production schedules and quality standards are maintained.
  • Participate and contribute in weekly team planning meetings, focusing on scheduling and performance in addition to providing insights and recommendations from the finishing team's perspective.
  • Generate and present reports to management highlighting areas for improvement and team progress, as required.
  • Set KPIs for the finishing team together with monitoring individual performance through regular appraisals.
  • Implement data-driven initiatives to enhance team efficiency and maximise potential.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Manufacturing process control experience.
  • Proven team management and leadership experience in similar working environment.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills, with a focus on meeting deadlines, and being proficient in data analysis and reporting, with effective communication skills.
  • A collaborative and solution-orientated approach to problem-solving.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective working relationships across
  • Effective leadership skills and Team builder/motivator
  • Good communicator (be able to train others and communicate instructions clearly)
  • Car driver a rural location
