| The Editorial Assistant provides administrative support to the Europa editorial team as required, and particularly in the following areas: |
Ø Collation and distribution of news and information sources for
use by editors, the Europa Directory and Statistics research
teams based in New Delhi, and contributing editors and
freelances;
Ø Co-ordination of the Europa appeal document and updating
system, including scheduling mailings and supplying data
sets;
Ø Drawing up and tracking author and contributor contracts;
Ø Maintaining records for Europa products in relevant company
business systems, including GT and Coda, liaising with other
departments, such as marketing and finance, as appropriate;
Ø Co-ordinating with editors and marketing in compiling marketing
copy for multiple media;
Ø Liaising with editors, marketing and designers in the preparation
of cover designs and blurbs;
Ø Co-ordinating regular uploads of data to the Europa online sites
| The successful candidate: |
The successful
candidate will ideally be educated to
degree level or equivalent and will be
extremely well-organised, able to manage
their time effectively and use their
initiative, an excellent communicator,
problem-solver and team worker. Good
computer skills are essential for this
role, which also requires good standards
of numeracy and written and spoken
English. Publishing experience would be an
advantage though is not essential, as
would an interest in international
political and economic affairs.
