Milton Park Jobs - vacancies

Project Manager, Informaworld J2312

The Informaworld website is the primary platform for the delivery of Informa’s electronic content. This site went live in April 2007 and is undergoing continual development and expansion. Although the site is extremely successful, it presents certain limitations on the business in its current form and so we have started work on a re-engineering project to replace the current system. Consequently, we require an experienced project manager to take control of this project and manage it through to completion.

This will involve planning the project down to a detailed level, working with both internal and external resources across a wide range of disciplines. They will then manage the project against the plan, identifying and managing risks and issues and reporting on progress, ensuring that delivery is on time, within budget and to the agreed levels of quality and service.

The successful candidates will work closely with other groups within T&F and Informa, who manage the infrastructure for multiple business units throughout the group and with the stakeholders of the web site – this includes liaison with product management, system testers, and the development team. Additionally, they must have experience of managing third-party suppliers, ensuring delivery against requirements.

They will be quality and process driven, have good time management skills, good inter-personal and communication skills and the ability and desire to produce high quality work. They should have a good understanding of and practical experience in managing software development projects to a value of £2m with teams of up to 20 through the whole lifecycle. Any experience of agile methodology will be advantageous as will exposure to on-line, transactional web based systems.

This position will be based at our offices in Milton Park, Abingdon, and reports to Robert Heywood, Development Manager, Informa world
