Student Reference
We are seeking an experienced Editor or Senior Editor to manage and develop the Routledge Student Reference list. This is an excellent opportunity for a talented and creative editor to expand and develop this successful and important list, which includes some market-leading titles and high profile Routledge brands such as ‘The Basics’
The position reports to a Senior Publisher in the Routledge Humanities division.
Core responsibilities include
Commissioning new titles to meet and exceed financial targets
Ensuring manuscripts are delivered and published according to schedule and meeting and exceeding financial plans where possible
Setting a clear and commercially robust global commercial strategy for the Student Reference list
Managing two members of staff in our Oxfordshire office at Milton Park
Staying on top of recent developments and changes in the market for student reference resources
Regular campus visiting and travel, in the UK and USA
Working closely with colleagues in editorial and marketing across Taylor and Francis’s publishing programme, in the UK and USA
Exploiting opportunities for student reference publishing in both established and new subjects or product channels
The ideal candidate will have commissioning experience in academic or educational publishing, which should include significant list and staff management experience. Strong commercial instincts, an ability to work productively with colleagues in many different subject areas, and keen understanding of the student reference market are essential.
This position is based at Milton Park, Abingdon and reports to Tony Bruce, Publisher
