


Journals MIS Co-ordinator_PS2317
Taylor & Francis (Academic Publishers) are looking for an ambitious and motivated Journals MIS Coordinator. The role will be ‘immersed in the business’, supporting various teams, one after the other, ie, Editorial first, then the next department, then the next, over the course of the coming years, as we develop, integrate, adapt or replace progressively more of the existing systems into JMIS, the integrated Journals Management Information System. This will be followed by on-going system management and enhancement, something which will constantly evolve and adapt with the business.
As a Journals MIS Coordinator your responsibilities will be:
To control masterdata, administering change requests & ensuring correct sign off
To help plan and co-ordinate key annual milestones with relevant teams
To work with the business in developing new reports which help manage the business
To promote JMIS via knowledge-sharing, advice, support, communication.
To participate in the roll out of new / amended systems and processes
To explain or train, post- system update / amendment / change in functionality
To provide on-going advice, support and guidance as & when needed, fast response
To provide refresher training courses on areas where difficulties become apparent
To co-ordinate change requests, and liaise with IT on priorities and timeframes
To maintain good working relationships
To write and implement training guides
Editorial tasks
To help plan and co-ordinate pre-pricing meeting activities (Edit., Production., Sales)
To support staff in pricing meeting preparation & ensure timeframes are adhered to
To develop and deliver tailored training, be this one to one, or via team tutorials
To provide support on Editor Expenses model development / enhancements
Finance tasks
To reconcile periodically masterdata to peripheral systems – CODA, SAP, Ed Ex,
To report any anomalies in any system reconciliation to Finance Director and IT
To assist in the production of robust financial budgets, forecasts & related reporting
To audit JMIS outputs / control totals against CODA, SAP, Ed Ex, CATS, etc. monthly
To report any internal numeric inconsistencies to Finance Director for review monthly
Attributes of the candidate
Knowledge of SAP, SAP BW and /or Business objects preferred; Good, clear communication skills
High emphasis on quality, timely customer service
Ability to prioritise effectively and good time-management skills; methodical problem solving skills
Experience of providing training or coaching preferred, otherwise proven presentation skills, empathy, and experience supporting others
keen believer in training for business improvement, esp if no training experience
Foundation accounting strongly preferred
Natural IT slant / career path has pulled the individual this way given their attributes
Ability to work well with people from a variety of backgrounds & levels including an ability to work across cultures around the globe anywhere we have users; be sensitive to different cultural needs
Capacity to develop and grow with the needs of the role
Expectations management / diplomatic
The individual should develop an understanding of the business and see the big picture, progressively understanding wider business needs, objectives and cost/system constraints, and work with a number of departmental needs which need to be managed and prioritised – some of which will conflict with each other.
This position is based in our Milton Park, Abingdon office and will report to the Financial Controller.
