Summit plc is a UK based drug discovery company with a major focus on developing new therapeutics from its proprietary iminosugar drug discovery technology platform. Summit believes that iminosugars offer a major opportunity for the discovery of new medicines to treat a number of major diseases and our current research and develop activities are focussed in the areas of anti-infectives and metabolic diseases.

Purpose of the Job: |
The successful candidate will undertake a variety of duties, including basic laboratory operations, managing supply and delivery of compound requests, maintenance of stock levels and dealing with deliveries.

Education & skills: |
Educated to A-level standard in a physical science, and with at least a GCSE (or equivalent) maths qualification, the successful candidate will also possess good time management skills and attention to detail, and be computer literate. Previous lab experience would be an advantage, however training will be provided. This position would suit an enthusiastic, motivated individual who enjoys working as part of a team.
To be successful in this role candidates must be able to work to deadlines, have good computer literacy skills and work effectively both independently and as part of a team. These abilities will be complemented by excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, can-do attitude to work.
