The Role: |
We require a helpdesk engineer who will be working with our technical support team based at Milton Park. The team provides a comprehensive support service to over 75 offices throughout the UK, Ireland and Holland.
RPS has over 2500 PCs running a variety of operating systems, plus network servers running Windows 2003 and 2008. Most of the sites are linked to the central site by wide area network connections.
RPS uses a number of different applications ranging from standard MS Office to more specialised CAD and design systems. There are also central mail and accounts systems, plus firewall and intranet servers.

IT Heldesk Engineer Duties: |
Ø
First
line helpdesk support
Ø
Installing operating systems and applications
Ø
Dealing with hardware failures on PCs
Ø
Helping the more senior engineers with installations
or upgrades
Ø
Recording actions in the technical support call log

Skills/Knowledge Required: |
Ø
Excellent customer service and communication skills are
required
Ø
Good time-keeping and a methodical manner will be
essential
Ø
Experience of similar posts would be an advantage

Hours: |
The helpdesk engineers work a shift system of 8am – 4pm, 9am – 5pm or 10am – 6pm 24 days leave per annum. 3 days of this leave have to be taken at Christmas when we close the office between Christmas and New Year.
