Job Title:  Battery Test Engineer/Technician
Location:  Milton Park
Job type: Full time permanent position

Purpose of the Job:

We have an enthusiastic and dynamic team developing highly advanced and novel battery technology. We have a position for a Battery Test Engineer, working under the supervision of the Battery Test Team Leader, to assist in the testing and analysis of a silicon based anode material for application in Li-ion batteries.

The candidate:

We are looking for someone with a strong data processing and analysis background, preferably up to degree level, combined with laboratory or test facility experience. The role will include the processing and then analysis of performance data from sample tests cells containing new battery materials. The main responsibility of the role would be to export and then convert raw data files into graphs of battery capacity versus cycle number.  Other responsibilities would include calibration and maintenance of the battery test cycling equipment, and preparation of test procedures for increasingly complicated duty cycles. Processing of numerical data using Excel ® is considered essential.  Previous experience with the testing of batteries and lithium rechargeable batteries in particular would be an advantage but is not essential. Similarly experience with the operation of computer controlled test systems such as Arbin, Maccor or Bitrode is desirable as is the ability to write short computer programmes. Being adaptable and having the ability to work well within a team are also important.

The Company:

Nexeon Limited is a spin-off from Imperial College London and is based in South Oxfordshire. We are a research based company developing advanced anode technology for use in Li-ion batteries. The potential of Nexeon’s battery technology has already been recognised with participation on the recent UK government sponsored Cool and Clean mission to the US and with two Rushlight awards including one for Clean Energy. As a result of our success and to support the next phase of commercialisation of our technology we are going through a second round of recruitment to expand our existing team of scientists and engineers. As a result of this expansion Nexeon will be moving to new premises in Milton Park. The role is a full time permanent position. We will offer a competitive remuneration package based on the skills and previous experience of the successful candidate.

Additional information:

If you think you have the right skills and would like to join a small, growing and enthusiastic team working in an exciting area of technology we would like to hear from you.
