Purpose of the Job: |
|
We have an enthusiastic and dynamic team developing highly advanced and novel battery technology based on the use of silicon. We have a position for a chemical/process engineer to run and help develop our pilot scale processing plant where we manufacture the silicon material for our own internal use and for sampling to customers
The role will be very “hands-on” and the successful candidate will be responsible for operating and developing our pilot-scale equipment ensuring we produce material of a consistent quality.

Responsibilities will include: |

Developing unit operations used in the manufacture of
silicon
materials. The work involves applying chemical
and process
engineering principles to design and develop
reliable and robust
processes.

Conducting product and process experiments to
establish,
scale-up and optimise process.
·
Routine manufacture of batches at pilot scale and
carrying out
analytical tests
·
Assisting in the process design of pilot and full
scale process.

The experience and background we will be looking for are: |
·
Degree in Chemical Engineering or a closely related
technical
field
·
Experience in process engineering in a pharmaceutical
or highly
regulated environment.
·
Good working knowledge of cGMP
·
Comfortable with working with hazardous materials
·
Previous experience of running pilot scale equipment
·
Ability to provide hands-on technical leadership with
strong
problem solving and analytical skills.
·
Ability to troubleshoot problems related to processing
and/or
equipment.
·
Ability to working a team environment with a flexible
and pro-
active approach to work.

The Company: |
Nexeon Limited is a spin-off from Imperial College London and is based in South Oxfordshire. We are a research based company developing advanced anode technology for use in Li-ion batteries. The potential of Nexeon’s battery technology has already been recognised with participation on the recent UK government sponsored Cool and Clean mission to the US and with two Rushlight awards including one for Clean Energy. As a result of our success and to support the next phase of commercialisation of our technology we are going through a second round of recruitment to expand our existing team of scientists and engineers. As a result of this expansion Nexeon will be moving to new premises in Milton Park. The role is a full time permanent position.
