Job Summary: 

A Project Manager is appointed to all K3 projects at the start of the initiation phase and acts as the single point of contact between the customer organisation and K3. This includes K3 appointed sub-contractors where applicable.  

A key responsibility of the Project Manager is production of the Project Initiation Document. This determines, with the agreement of the customer, the organisation and governance methods to be used throughout the project. 

K3 make extensive use of the Microsoft Office suite of applications in the management and administration of projects including Microsoft Project for planning and control purposes.  

In addition to managing customer projects K3 Project Managers will also work on internal business improvement projects and support the Professional Services Manager in developing and improving business practices.

Key responsibilities of the Project Manager include:

Ø  Ensuring a timely and comprehensive handover from the sales
    team is completed
Ø  Day to day management of the K3 project team
Ø  Regular reviews and reporting of progress against plan and budget
Ø  Maintenance of the project plan and the management of changes
    to the plan where necessary
Ø  Obtaining the commitment of resources from management at each
    stage of the project
Ø  Managing the involvement of K3 and customer management and
    other stakeholders
Ø  Communication with all project stakeholders
Ø  The regular review of project risks and issues including escalation
    through the agreed channels where necessary
Ø  Management of a project change log and application of the agreed
    change control process
Ø  Scheduling of meetings at appropriate points in the project
Ø  Ensuring that quality checks are performed throughout the project
Ø  Ensuring that all authorisations are obtained before moving from
    one stage to the next
Ø  Maintenance of a project file

Essential Skills and Experience:

1.  Project Management 
    
Ø Knowledge and experience of structured project management
           methodologies
     Ø PRINCE2 certification or accreditation or equivalent
     Ø Knowledge of costs to completion and earned value methods
     Ø Has managed multiple concurrent projects
     Ø Experienced user of Microsoft Project
     Ø Experienced user of Microsoft Office products

2.  Experience
    
Ø Previous experience of managing projects with ongoing
           development requirements (ie not just straightforward roll out).
     Ø Use of project management software

3.  Business
   
Ø Has worked in a retail environment or
    Ø Has worked in a software supplier environment – Retail or ERP
    Ø Has worked in or has an understanding of the brewery industry
    Ø Understanding of Retail ERP systems
    Ø Management of budgets
    Ø Exposure at senior management levels
    Ø Responsibility for or involvement in, business improvement
          programmes 

4.  Technical
    
Ø Knowledge and experience of MS Dynamics NAV Financials
     Ø Proven track record of application configuration and testing
     Ø Experience of SQL – ideally with MS Dynamics NAV
     Ø Knowledge of hardware infrastructure and implementations

5.  Personal
    
Ø Ability to build and maintain customer relationships including
           responsibility for commercial activity
     Ø Presentation skills
     Ø Good written and verbal communication skills

Ø Good education background, preferably to degree level or
           equivalent in a related discipline
     Ø Formal training in Project Management  

Working Environment: 

The roles will be primarily based at Milton Park, Didcot, Oxfordshire, although K3 are flexible if required. All the roles may involve travel to client sites throughout the UK and you may be required to spend periods of time working from client sites. Full driving licence is required

Supplementary information:

Relocation or generous joining fee paid to direct applicants with flexible working opportunities available.
Salary range:  £50--£100,000
