employs 160 staff in its retail division and its Head Offices are
at Abingdon, Oxfordshire.
Job Summary:
A Project Manager is
appointed to all K3 projects at the start of the initiation phase
and acts as the single point of contact between the customer
organisation and K3. This includes K3 appointed sub-contractors
where applicable.
A key responsibility of
the Project Manager is production of the Project Initiation
Document. This determines, with the agreement of the customer, the
organisation and governance methods to be used throughout the
project.
K3 make extensive use of
the Microsoft Office suite of applications in the management and
administration of projects including Microsoft
Project for planning and control purposes.
In addition to managing
customer projects K3 Project Managers will also work on internal
business improvement projects and support the Professional
Services Manager in developing and improving business practices.
Responsibilities:
Key
responsibilities of the Project Manager include:

Ensuring a timely and
comprehensive handover from the sales team
is completed
·
Day to day management of the K3
project team
·
Regular reviews and reporting of
progress against plan and budget
·
Maintenance of the project plan
and the management of changes to
the plan where
necessary
·
Obtaining the commitment of
resources from management at each
stage of the project
·
Managing the involvement of K3
and customer management and
other stakeholders
·
Communication with all project
stakeholders
·
The regular review of project
risks and issues including escalation
through the agreed
channels where necessary
·
Management of a project change
log and application of the agreed
change control process
·
Scheduling of meetings at
appropriate points in the project
·
Ensuring that quality checks are
performed throughout the project
·
Ensuring that all authorisations
are obtained before moving from
one stage to the next
·
Maintenance of a project file.
Skills and Experience:
Essential:

Education |
· Good education background, preferably to degree level or equivalent in a related discipline ·
Formal training in Project
Management |

Experience |
· Previous experience of managing projects with ongoing development requirements (ie not just straightforward roll out). ·
Use of project management

Desirable:

Working Environment:
The role will be based at
Milton Park, Didcot, Oxfordshire and will involve extensive travel
to client sites throughout the UK and potentially abroad and will
be required to spend periods of time working form client sites.
Full driving license is required.
Supplementary Information:
Working
Hours:
Normal Hours of work: 37.5 a week, Monday to Friday 9.00 – 5.30 with an hour lunch break.
Holidays:
Your annual holiday
entitlement is 22 days in the complete holiday year, which runs
from 1st January to 31st December excluding bank and
public holidays.
If you are employed on a
part-time basis your annual holiday entitlement is pro-rata to the
entitlement for full-time employees of 22 days. In addition, you
are entitled to recognised bank/public holidays where they fall on
one of your normal working days.
You will accrue annual holidays on the basis of 1/12th of the annual entitlement for each month of service in the holiday year.
Probationary
Period:
6 months, followed by formal review
Expenses:
If employed, legitimate
business expenses incurred will be reimbursed by the company in
line with the company Expenses Policy. Expenses incurred
travelling to and attending interviews will not normally be re-imbursed.

Notice
The employment termination period will be confirmed in your contract of employment once an offer of employment has been accepted. The standard notice period is :
After 1 month’s service you are required to give the Company 1 week’s notice to terminate your employment. After 3 months service you are required to give the Company one month’s notice to terminate your employment.
You are entitled to receive the following periods of notice from the Company:
Over 1 month but less than 3 months service - 1 weekOver 3 months service but under 5 years service – 1 month.
Over 5 years continuous service - 1 week for each complete year of service to a maximum of 12 weeks after 12 years.
By mutual agreement, these notice periods may be waived.
The Company has the right to terminate your employment without notice or payment in lieu of notice in the event that you commit a fundamental breach of contract.
The Company reserves the right to require you not to carry out your duties or attend your place of work during the period of notice.
At the absolute discretion of
the Company, payment in lieu of working notice may be made.
Sick
Pay:
The procedure you must follow in the event of periods of absence from work due to sickness is set out in the Employee Handbook. At the discretion of the Company, the following sick pay entitlement may be paid in excess of any Statutory Sick Pay to which you may be entitled:
In the first 3 months of service there is no entitlement to Company sick pay
From
Over 12 months service you are entitled to a maximum of 3 months’ full pay followed by 3 months’ half pay in any twelve-month period.
The qualifying days for Statutory Sick Pay purposes are Monday to Friday inclusive.
Pension:
The Company does not operate a private Pension Scheme and there is no contracting out certificate in force in respect of your employment. You are therefore contracted into the current secondary State Pension Scheme unless you have made your own personal pension arrangements.
However, the Company will offer you access to a Stakeholder Pension provider to enable you to consider your own personal pension arrangements.
