| Purpose of the Job: |
Develop and enhance internet systems, including testing, configuration and support, alone or as part of a team |
| Key Responsibilities: |

Development of software and systems to an agreed design
standard
·
Implementation of designs to an agreed coding standard and
best practices
·
Evaluation, testing, onsite installation and maintenance of
software
·
Contribution to and meeting of, agreed individual and project
deadlines
·
Production of general technical documentation
·
Liaison with clients regarding technical issues
·
Liaison with other developers for advice, needs and
requirements
·
Work within framework of corporate standards and policies
·
Execution of other duties appropriate to the skills and
experience
of the post holder which may be identified by the
project
manager.

Essential Skills: |
Minimum of 3 years hands-on commercial development experience in:
·
Microsoft environments
·
Internet, intranet or e-commerce business systems
·
C# 3.5
·
.Net
·
SQL Server
·
ASP .NET 3.5
·
Linq
·
Java Script, particularly Jquery
·
Structured testing environments
·
Production and maintenance of documentation
Minimum
of 1 year’s hands-on commercial development experience in:
·
Structured analysis and design
·
Concurrent contributions to more than one project delivery
| Desirable Skills: |
·
Hands-on development experience of HTML, Visual Studio,
or other web technologies
·
Team foundation server
·
Agile development methods, particularly Scrum.
·
Solid understanding of the objectives and limitations of OO
·
Experience of transitioning to Object Oriented development
·
OO A/D experience followed by hands-on development
·
MS Certified and accredited training
·
Active contributor within named developer forums
·
E-Procurement and/or Supply Chain business sector experience

Person specification: |
The post holder must be an effective communicator with sound written and oral skills. A good aptitude for problem solving within a team environment is important in addition to pre-requisites of numeracy, literacy and listening skills.
The post holder should have established time management skills including an ability to be flexible and effectively present work to others. A good team player is required and ideally, one who is able to deal with customers.
The post holder should be self-motivated and demonstrate a continuing interest and enthusiasm for e-commerce and Internet related issues.
